Which infrared sauna are you looking for?
An infrared sauna warms your body with radiant heat instead of hot air. The air in the cabin stays at a mild 35 to 60 °C, so it is easy to use at home and many people find it relaxing. On this page you can compare infrared saunas from several retailers side by side and find a model that fits your room and your budget.
What to look for in an infrared sauna
Start with the emitters. Carbon emitters give a soft, even heat over a large surface. Ceramic emitters get hotter and feel more intense. Full spectrum emitters combine several wavelengths in one panel. Want to know more about the technique? Read how infrared works.
Then check the power and the plug. Most cabins use 1.5 to 2.5 kW and often run on a normal 230 V socket. Warm-up takes about 10 to 20 minutes, and a session usually lasts 20 to 40 minutes. That makes it easy to fit into a normal evening.
- Wood: red cedar, hemlock, spruce or thermowood. Each has its own colour and scent.
- Size: measure the room, including the height and the space the door needs.
- Extras: lighting, a backrest or a sound system can add comfort.
Sizes of a home infrared sauna
A home infrared sauna comes in many sizes. A cabin for one person is roughly 90 to 115 cm wide. For two people you need about 120 to 150 cm. Cabins for three people are about 150 to 190 cm, and cabins for four people start at 190 cm. From about 200 cm wide you can even lie down. Compare the 1 person cabins or the 2 person cabins if you already know what you need.
What does an infrared sauna cost?
Prices are indicative and change often. A one person cabin costs about €1,350 to €2,700. A two person cabin costs about €1,700 to €4,700. Cabins for three or four people cost about €3,300 to €4,600. The final price depends on the size, the wood, the type of emitters and the extras.
A higher price does not always mean a better fit. Think about how often you will use it, how many people will join you and how much space you have.

Frequently asked questions about infrared saunas
How hot does an infrared sauna get?
The air in the cabin is usually 35 to 60 °C. The emitters warm your body directly, so it can feel warmer than the air temperature suggests.
Can I plug an infrared sauna into a normal socket?
Many cabins use 1.5 to 2.5 kW and work on a standard 230 V socket. Always check the product details, and ask an electrician if you are not sure.
How long should a session last?
Most people stay in for 20 to 40 minutes. Start with a shorter session and see what feels comfortable for you.
Where can I put an infrared sauna?
Indoors in a dry room with a flat floor, such as a bedroom, attic or spare room. For the garden, choose a model that is built for outdoor use.
